There are several ways to get to Helnessund.

The finest way to travel  (if the weather is nice), is by selbåt or motorboat to Helnessund Marina approx. 29 NM from Bodoe.

The easiest way is by car or buss. There are express boat from Bodoe and Lofoten.

You can also travel by bus (or train) from Bodoe to Fauske, continuing by bus from Fauske to Toemmerneset (the "outside" of Steigen tunnel).

You can travel from Bodoe to Fauske by train

Bodoe-Fauske-Toemmerneset(-Sortland) by bus

From Toemmerneset there is a bus to Skjelvareid-Botn(-Nordfold)

The bus does not go all the way to Helnessund, but at Boten approx. 20 km. from Helnessund.

You can travel from Narvik to Toemmeneset by bus.
